Our Northwest Austin group meets at 7:00 AM every Saturday for varying routes ranging from 6.5 to 10 miles. As with all of our groups, newcomers are welcome. Paces typically range ... morefrom 8:00 to 9:30 minutes per mile and will adjust based on the group’s needs. Some runners meet at 6:00 AM to get in a few miles before the group meets at 7:00. Routes may be flat or hilly.

Need a hand to get started with social running? Life Time offers several classes and training programs to get you ready. The Life Time Austin South Running Groups welcome interested runners from the communities of South Austin, Kyle, Buda and the surrounding area.

Who We Are  Austin Front Runners is a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender running group open to all fitness levels from walkers to experienced marathoners. ... more

The focus of the club is to bring GLBT runners together to support one another and network within our community. We have a great camaraderie and welcome all to the group. We also participate in local running events and may pick one race a month to focus our training. Other than that there is very little competition in the group; we mostly offer one another friendly support.

Members of the Austin Front Runners compete in races all over the country. We welcome you to join us for a run around Lady Bird Lake if you are new to Austin, if you've lived here for years, or if you are passing through for a few days.

Social
In addition to races, we also host social events. We go out to eat together after our Tuesday and Saturday runs. We also have monthly happy hours, an annual party barge outing on the lake, and many other social events. Check out our calendar for upcoming events.

Where We Meet

We meet three times a week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings) on the trail that circles Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. Our starting point is under the Mopac Bridge on the north shore of the lake near the stretching area. We start arriving about 15 minutes early to stretch and warm up before our run. The runs vary in length from 3-10 miles. The three-mile loop is a run from Mopac to the Pfluger Pedestrian bridge and back. The four-mile loop is from Mopac to the South First street bridge and back. The five-mile loop is from Mopac to the Congress Avenue bridge and back. Seven miles is a loop from Mopac to the I-35 bridge and back. The 10-mile loop is a run from Mopac to the Longhorn Dam. (A lot of runners think the prettiest parts of the trail are on the east side of I-35.)

After our Tuesday and Saturday runs we meet at a local restaurant for networking. We also meet once or twice a month for a social event (movie, bowling, potluck, etc.).
